Job summary

G.A. Richards Group is seeking an experienced Powder Coater to prepare surfaces and apply powder coatings to parts and products, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to specifications. You will operate coating equipment on a Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–2:00 PM shift in Grand Rapids, MI.

The role requires 3–5 years in powder coating or related painting, a High School diploma or GED, and any technical training in painting or finishing is a plus. Safety, accuracy, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of experience in powder coating, industrial painting, or related field preferred.
• Technical or vocational training in painting or finishing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, ovens, and wash systems.
• Apply powder coating to achieve specified thickness, coverage, and finish quality.
• Responsible for training painters.
• Monitor curing processes and temperatures to ensure optimal adhesion and durability.
• Conduct visual inspections of finished products for defects, runs, sags, or uneven coverage.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of powder coating equipment and booth.
• Maintain accurate records of production, materials used, and quality control checks.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
• Troubleshoot basic issues with powder coating equipment and processes.
• Assist with inventory management of powder coat materials and supplies.
