Steel Craft is seeking an experienced Painter in Milwaukee/Hartford area to apply powder and polyurethane coatings on metal components. The role requires precise surface prep, accurate color matching, and safe operation of painting equipment in a manufacturing setting.

The position involves maintaining coating quality, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring paperwork and ERP entries for paint usage are completed correctly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in production painter or proven skills for the position.
• Knowledge of powder coating applications and techniques.
• Must possess mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions, work orders, or customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces for painting, including cleaning and priming.
• Apply powder and/or polyurethane coatings using approved techniques.
• Operate and maintain painting equipment, including guns and ovens.
• Ensure coating thickness and even application per specifications.
• Inspect finished work for quality and durability; identify paint defects.
• Complete required operations and quality paperwork accurately.
• Train and coach others on basic paint techniques and equipment use.
