Job summary

Tate Inc. in Glasgow, KY is seeking a Powder Coating Technician responsible for applying powder coatings to components and maintaining coating equipment. The role supports design and production topics and collaborates across manufacturing, quality, and management teams.

The position runs 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm. A high school diploma and 3–5 years of powder coating experience are required, with strong reading, math, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years experience in powder coating.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to distinguish shades and colors.
• Must have strong knowledge of material prep and powder application.
• Must understand powder coating equipment adjustments and maintenance.
• Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality application of powder coatings to fabricated components.
• Prepare manufactured products for powder coating by blasting and cleaning.
• Assist moving carriages and carts in and out of spray booths.
• Clean and maintain powder coating guns and equipment.
• Clean booth thoroughly during color changes.
• Troubleshoot powder coating equipment.
• Touch up and rework material as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed by Team Leader or Supervisor.
