Job summary

Tate Inc. in Saint Paul, VA is seeking a Powder Coating Technician to perform coating operations and operate related equipment. You will collaborate with multiple manufacturing departments to ensure quality finishes and smooth production.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Prior powder coating experience is a plus, but not required; candidates must be able to read and follow written instructions and work in a team setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Powder coating experience is a plus but not required.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop for an 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to distinguish shades and colors.
• Must understand powder coating equipment adjustments and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality application of powder coatings to fabricated components.
• Prepares manufactured products for powder coating by blasting and cleaning.
• Assists moving carriages and carts in and out of spray booths.
• Cleans and maintains powder coating guns and equipment.
• Cleans booth during color change and performs maintenance as needed.
• Troubleshoots powder coating equipment.
• Touches up and reworks material as required.
• Follows safety procedures and company policies.
