Salem Metal, Inc. in Middleton, MA is seeking a skilled manufacturing/finishing candidate for day shift. The role involves cleaning, prepping, painting and powder coating parts, reading blueprints, and operating related equipment to meet customer specs.

Position offers 7AM-3:30PM M-F with overtime, options for part-time or full-time, and a hybrid/remote flexible arrangement depending on function. The environment is air-conditioned, with leadership on site and opportunities to grow with the

Formación

• Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with cleaning, degreasing, surface preparation, masking, painting, and powder coating operations.
• Ability to clean, degrease or prepare parts as needed.
• Familiarity with painting common alloy steels (both stainless and cold-rolled) and aluminum materials and assemblies up to 1/4” thicknesses, typical.
• Demonstrated ability to setup both powder coating and paint spray equipment, exhaust systems, and thickness/adherence controls.
• Experience reading drawings and blueprints, and setup of welding equipment and parts to ensure tolerances are maintained.
• Ability to use hand measuring equipment and gauges to inspect parts to ensure conformance to customer requirements and specifications.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Other tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Other tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives. Pay will be dependent on experience and skills, ranging from $17 to $23/hour.
• Basic computer skills are required. SMI will invest in training the right person who wants to advance in their career.
