SUMMARY: As a Powder Coat Technician, a coating technician selects, mixes and then applies paints or chemicals to various surfaces utilizing different application devices, like a spray gun, to perform their duties. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high technology, manufacturing environment and works well in a matrix structure across all levels of the organization.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Follow all principles and practices of powder coating applicationPrepare, match colors and mix standard and other primers, paints and coatings to proper consistency and viscosity, using thinners, solvents, additives and agitators as required.Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash and pretreatmentsObserve machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defectsDetermine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometersEnsure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performanceProper cleaning and maintenance of equipmentGood knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipmentKeep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.Follow quality service and safety standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.One to two years related experience or equivalent.Commitment to excellence and high standardsAbility to manage priorities and workflow
