Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking a Powder Coat Supervisor to lead the powder coating line in Milwaukee. This hands-on leadership role blends technical coating expertise with people management to meet daily production schedules and quality standards.

You will supervise a small team, coordinate with Production Management, and drive safety, throughput, and continuous improvement on the line. On-site, 5 days/week in Milwaukee.

Qualifications

• Requires hands-on powder coating experience and 2+ years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the powder coat department to meet daily production goals.
• Supervise 3–5 team members, delegating tasks across shifts.
• Train new employees and ensure onboarding timelines.
• Set up and operate powder coating equipment and verify coating quality.
• Inspect parts for defects and troubleshoot production issues.
• Maintain safety practices and promote a safe working environment.
• Communicate schedules and changes to all stakeholders.

This is a working supervisor role — beyond overseeing the team the Supervisor is hands-on in the powder coat process itself, ensuring quality, safety, and throughput on the line. We're looking for a strong core fit who can bring technical expertise and leadership to make a positive difference on the team.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership & CoordinationWork closely with the Production Manager to meet production goalsCoordinate daily activities of the powder coat department, delegating job responsibilities to appropriate shift personnelPlan and organize work for assigned workers to meet the production scheduleMaintain workflow between workers and departments, adjusting for schedule changes as neededMotivate team members to complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner, ensuring effective use of personnelTrain new powder coat employees to bring them up to speed in a timely mannerCommunicate with all levels of the organization to keep employees informed of schedules, changes, and job-related informationPowder Coat Process & QualitySet up and operate machines to coat steel and aluminum parts with powder paintDetermine coating flow, viscosity, and quality through visual inspection and use of viscometersSelect appropriate coatings and prepare them by mixing substances according to formulas, using automated paint mixing equipmentOperate auxiliary machines and equipment used in the coating processAttach hoses and nozzles to machines using wrenches and pliers, adjusting for proper spray dispersionInterpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders for workersMonitor all production for quality, making adjustments as necessaryInspect products and equipment for defects or malfunctionsTroubleshoot and resolve production problems as they occurEffectively use raw materials to reduce wasteCheck all production equipment to ensure it is in good working orderRecord operational data on specified formsSafetyWork in a safe manner and promote safety among all employees: Key Stakeholders, Production Manager, Powder Coat Team Members, Quality Assurance, and other Production Department SupervisorsWhat We're Looking For:3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience, with hands-on powder coating experience strongly preferredMinimum of 2 years supervisory experienceAbility to work in a fast-paced environment in an effective, safe mannerSix Sigma Black Belt certification preferred, but not requiredWelding experience helpful, but not requiredMust be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skillsProject management skills a plusMinimum high school diploma or GEDAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manualsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to lift 50 lbsAbility to bend, twist, stoop, and climb laddersAbility to work 40 to 50 hours per week
