Job summary

Pivotal Health Solutions in Watertown, SD is seeking a Powder Prep Operator to prepare parts for the powder coating process. You will mask, plug, sand, and ensure parts are clean and ready for coating, while meeting quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in powder coating, metal prep, or general manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools, masking materials, and prep equipment safely.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Clean metal parts using solvents, detergents, or equipment (e.g., pressure washer, degreaser) to remove oils, dust, and residues.
• Sand or scuff parts to create proper surface texture for powder coating adhesion.
• Apply masking and plugs to areas that must remain uncoated.
• Inspect parts for cleanliness, surface condition, and correct preparation.
• Identify and report defects or quality concerns to the supervisor.
• Organize and remove parts from the powder coat line.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with general production duties as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
