Job summary

Crown Chicken Ltd is seeking an experienced Trainee Breeder / Rearing Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of poultry farms across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. The role focuses on maintaining bird welfare, farm performance, and operational excellence through strong leadership and hands-on management.

You will set KPIs, lead farm managers, and collaborate with other Area Managers while upholding health and safety standards across sites.

Qualifications

Strong poultry farming experience.
Strong people management skills.
Experience with regulatory bodies such as RSPCA and Red Tractor
Knowledge of Health and Safety in day-to-day duties
Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

Champion the highest standards of bird welfare across all sites and ensure effective management of ventilation, heating, feed, water, litter and lighting systems in line with company standards.
Set and agree farm KPIs with senior management and support teams to achieve targets.
Lead, motivate and develop farm managers and teams to deliver outstanding performance.
Work collaboratively with other Area Managers to coordinate cover and resource requirements across the region.
Promote a strong health and safety culture across all sites and ensure hazards, near misses and incidents are reported, investigated and managed appropriately.
Participate in the alarm-call rota, responding promptly to alarms and ensuring any faults are rectified without delay.
