Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Poultry Science or related field OR 4 years equivalent education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage assigned breeder operations.
• Ensure required quantity and quality of hatch eggs for hatcheries.
• Oversee breeder producer relationships and related goods/services.
• Implement and monitor pullet and breeder production programs.
• Provide training and development for Breeder Representatives and Technicians.
• Coordinate with contract growers and provide direction.
• Monitor contract growers' development.
• Track pullet placements, movements, vaccinations, and hatch egg numbers.
• Provide performance and cost data to accounting and management.
• Monitor flock health and adherence to testing procedures.
• Maintain breeder flock and pullet growing agreements.
• Lead in alignment with company values and strategic objectives.
• Ensure compliance with policies (Animal Welfare, Safety, Environment).

Job Description Summary:

We are looking for an Experienced Assistant Production Manager who will be primarily responsible for assisting breeder manager in directing and coordinating breeding operations, and ensuring delivery of quality product. Job Description:

• Oversee and manage assigned breeder operations
• Ensuring required quantity and quality of hatch eggs are available for hatcheries
• Oversee all Breeder Producer relationships and all goods and services associated with their needs
• Implement and monitor all pullet and breeder production programs
• Ensure the training of development of all Breeder Representatives and Technicians
• Provide communication and direction for contract growers
• Monitor development of contract growers
• Monitor pullet placements, moves, vaccinations and ensure hatch egg numbers
• Provide performance and cost numbers to accounting and management
• Monitor pullet and breeder flock health and adherence to blood testing procedures
• Maintain pullet growing agreements and breeder flock agreements
• Lead and manage in a way consistent with company's values and strategic objectives
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations (i.e. Animal Welfare, Safety, Environmental, etc.)

Job Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Poultry Science, Agricultural Science or related field from an accredited institution OR 4 years equivalent education and experience
• Minimum 4 years' poultry breeder operational experience
• Minimum 4 years' supervisory experience within a similar environment
• Advanced poultry science knowledge
• Demonstrated high level of initiative and ownership of projects
• Ability to confront and manage through conflict situations with employees and contractors
• High work capacity, dependable, results oriented and strong sense of urgency
