Job summary

Cranswick Plc seeks a Health and Safety Manager to oversee the H&S function for its farms, delivering group policies and driving a safety culture. The role is based at Eye, Suffolk, with regular travel to East Anglia sites and a Monday–Friday schedule.

You will lead risk assessments, incident investigations and audits, align sites to ISO 45001, manage the H&S budget, and report on safety performance to improve prevention and outcomes.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH/NVQ Level 3 or higher in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Experience in risk assessments and accident investigations.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 management systems.

Job description

Crown Farms which forms part of the multi-million pound Cranswick Plc are an industry-leading, farm to fork chicken production business with over 80 farms across East Anglia.

We are recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to oversee the H&S function of the farms, delivering group H&S policies, strategies and promoting a safety culture to create a workplace free of risk to health and wellbeing.

This role will be based at our office in Eye, Suffolk, with regular travel to farm sites across East Anglia.

Shift Pattern – Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm

Duties

• Promote and deliver the group H&S policies to the farms.
• Ensure alignment with the group H&S strategy.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S legislation, and industry-specific regulations.
• Identify workplace hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments for all operations.
• Lead accident investigations, root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to H&S, including incident rates, near misses and compliance audit results.
• Generate monthly and annual reports to assess safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct regular H&S Audits across sites.
• Responsible for managing the H&S budget.
• Align all sites to meet ISO 45001 management systems certification.
• Implement group-based systems and procedures across all sites.
• Coordinate and chair H&S committee meetings.

What you will need:

• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Experience within Agriculture is beneficial, however not essential.
• NEBOSH/NVQ Level 3 or higher in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience in ISO45001
• Experience conducting risk assessments and accident investigations.
