Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a technical specialist to support producers caring for company birds, advising on care, equipment, litter, and sanitation. You will visit farms to monitor bird comfort, health, and flock performance, and coordinate with hatchery, feedmill, and livehaul teams to optimize contracts and costs.

The role requires a bachelor’s in agriculture or related field, 1+ year poultry experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an agricultural field or equivalent experience relevant to the position preferred.
• 1+ years’ experience in a poultry or agriculture-related field preferred.
• Strong communication skills; ability to convey information clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in active listening, ensuring mutual understanding, and adapting communication style to various audiences.
• Basic computer skills such as checking email, data entry into templates, or creating simple queries.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to producers on bird care, building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and sanitation.
• Visit farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, monitor health, and provide remedies when possible.
• Monitor feed consumption and order as necessary; pull blood and fat samples as required.
• Coordinate chick placements to farms and assist with catch schedules.
• Ensure communication among Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul departments regarding contract farms.
