Job summary

Perdue Farms is seeking a Live Hang Associate for 1st shift in Rockingham, NC. You will work directly with live birds, placing them into shackles on a moving line to support the start of our processing flow and help maintain line speed, quality, and safety.

This hands-on role requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and rotating tasks as needed. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:30am–1:30pm, on-site at our production facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.
• High School or equivalent is beneficial but not required.
• Experience in a poultry processing/manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience hanging live chickens.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve birds by their feet from a conveyor.
• Hold a bird in weight ranging from 2 to 6 pounds by both feet.
• Hang birds in shackles on a moving line at a reach of approx. 32 inches at a rate of 28 birds per minute.
• Ensure that birds are placed in shackles properly to prevent bruising or damaging.
• This position requires regular rotation.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in Company and department safety programs.
