Job summary

Perdue Farms is seeking a Live Hanger to support our production line. You will work directly with live birds, placing them into shackles on a moving line to keep operations efficient and safe. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.
• Experience in a poultry processing/manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience hanging live chickens.
• High School diploma or equivalent is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve birds by their feet from a conveyor.
• Hold a bird in weight ranging from 2 to 6 pounds by both feet.
• Hang birds in shackles on a moving line to maintain flow at about 28 BPM.
• Ensure birds are placed in shackles properly to prevent bruising or damage.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in company and department safety programs.
