Job summary

Aviagen is seeking a Trucking Coordinator in Texas to plan and schedule the safe delivery of day-old chicks from hatchery to customer farms. You will coordinate with drivers, customers, and hatchery teams to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries while upholding animal welfare and biosecurity standards.

Responsibilities include routing, dispatching, communications, and maintaining records, with emphasis on compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in transportation coordination, dispatching, logistics, customer service, or agricultural operations preferred.
• High school diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, Business, or related field preferred.
• Experience in poultry, hatchery, livestock, or agricultural transportation strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of transportation routing, dispatching, and scheduling practices.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and transportation or dispatch software.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations preferred.
• Class A CDL license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule the daily delivery of day-old chicks to customers.
• Develop efficient delivery routes to maximize transportation efficiency.
• Dispatch company drivers.
• Communicate delivery schedules and changes to customers, drivers, and internal teams.
• Verify delivery orders for accuracy including chick quantities and destinations.
• Monitor delivery progress and respond to delays or disruptions.
• Coordinate with hatchery to align delivery with chick availability.
• Ensure compliance with biosecurity and welfare standards and transport regulations.
• Maintain transportation records and shipping reports.
• Collaborate with fleet maintenance for vehicle upkeep.
