Job summary

Aviagen USA is seeking a Driver to safely transport day-old chicks from hatcheries to customer farms and company facilities. This role requires a valid Class A CDL and entails team driving for long-haul and overnight deliveries, while complying with DOT regulations, biosecurity, and animal welfare.

You will maintain logs, load and unload chick boxes, communicate with dispatch, and uphold safety standards. Frequent overnight travel and ability to handle physical tasks are needed; experience with

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• MVR must meet company standards.
• Minimum 1 year of Class A driving experience preferred.
• Experience in livestock, poultry, or refrigerated transport preferred.
• Ability to work in a team driving environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport day-old chicks to customer and company locations.
• Participate in team driving assignments to maximize efficiency and comply with Hours of Service regulations.
• Ensure humane transportation by monitoring trailer conditions and welfare.
• Maintain accurate logs, inspections, fuel and mileage records, and other documentation.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload chick boxes with minimal stress.
• Communicate delivery status and route updates with dispatch and customers.
• Follow DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety policies.
