Job summary

The Simmons Foods team in Decatur, AR is seeking a Poultry Loader to assist in catching and loading poultry by hand to meet company and customer requirements. You will help set up curtains, direct poultry to trucks, and load cages while minimizing bruising.

You will work with teammates to improve processes, adhere to safety and company policies, and support production goals through reliable, physical effort in an environment that may be hot, dusty, and dark. Veterans are welcome to join our team.

Qualifications

• Must be able to bend and lift up to 60 pounds of poultry 250 times per shift.
• Must work in temperature extremes, dusty, and dark environments.
• Must meet company production rate of loading 150 cages per shift.
• Preference for poultry or food processing organization.

Responsibilities

• Manually gather poultry for loading onto trucks by setting up curtains to separate poultry, moving poultry from corners and out of piles, and directing them to the trucks.
• Load poultry into cages per company standards while minimizing bruising.
• Participate as a member of the team, contributing to ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.
• Cooperate with teammates to ensure best practices, attend team meetings, and address issues to maintain cohesiveness and synergy.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies) and communicate concerns or improvement ideas.
• Perform additional duties as required to support business objectives, including creative contributions beyond this core function.
