Job summary

Cobb is hiring for a poultry-operations role focused on caring for hens and roosters, monitoring feeding and egg production, and ensuring biosecurity in a high-demand farm environment.

You will follow strict schedules, perform routine tasks, and coordinate with a team to maintain bird health and egg quality. This position may require shift-based hours and compliance with safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps >6 months in the past 36 months.
• If laid off or providing child/eider care, the gap increases to 18 months.
• Full-time students in last 36 months are not counted as work history.
• Rehire criteria: minimum waiting period of 180 days.
• Rehire rule: no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist with feeding, watering and weighing birds according to schedules (20%).
• Monitor and assist with cleaning and disinfecting waterers, changing nest pads, dusting houses, and keeping feed room clean (10%).
• Record information such as egg numbers, bird weight, medications, feed intake, and mortality (10%).
• Inspect poultry for diseases and remove weak, ill, injured or dead birds from the flock (10%).
• Collect eggs from floor nests and record eggs laid by each hen (30%).
• Record number of floor eggs and work to reduce them by training hens to use nests (10%).
• Other duties may be assigned, including adjusting feed, water, lighting, ventilation, and safety compliance (10%).
