Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, IL seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to deliver specialized care for POTS patients. You will perform history and physicals, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and coordinate with the POTS physician.

The role requires a Master’s degree in an APRN or PA program, IL RN/APRN or PA license, and at least 2–3 years of POTS experience. BLS is required; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an approved APRN or Physician Assistant program.
• Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• POTS Program certification or experience.
• Minimum 2-3 years of POTS Program experience preferred.
• Licensure as RN and APRN in Illinois or PA in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Elicit history and physical examinations, assist diagnosis, and develop treatment plans with the physician.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, document results in the EMR, and coordinate with care teams.
• Lead rounds and participate in team conferences; educate patients and families.
• Provide POTS-specific care including procedures and pharmacologic management.
• Maintain licensure and participate in APP-PAP; engage in quality improvement initiatives.
