Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab invites applications for an Advanced Practice Provider in our POTS Program in Chicago, IL. The APP delivers specialized care for outpatients with POTS, conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, prescribes therapies, and collaborates with the POTS physician for optimal outcomes.

The APP will participate in rounds, document findings, educate patients and families, and lead care coordination with nurses, therapists and other clinicians.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an approved APRN or Physician Assistant program.
• Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or NCCPA.
• Licensure as an RN/APRN or PA in Illinois.
• POTS certification or experience preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of POTS program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Elicit history and physical, assist physician in diagnosis and interventions.
• Assess patients and document results in the EMR.
• Develop POTS treatment plans with specialists as needed.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests related to POTS.
• Lead or participate in rounds and team meetings; educate patients and families.
