Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic diesel mechanical knowledge.
• Repair knowledge for potato equipment.
• Knowledge of PM maintenance on trucks, tractors and implements.
• Understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to present information one-on-one and in small groups.
• Ability to perform basic math with a calculator.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up, inspect, and clean equipment to ensure reliability.
• Prepare and complete safety, quality and farm documents.
• Verify crew trained to OSHA requirements.
• Report safety issues and incidents to management.
• Initiate incident/accident reports.
• Implement corrective actions for deficiencies.
• Handle potatoes and move them to meet production goals.
• Troubleshoot equipment not running properly.
• Maintain GMP and sanitary practices to reduce losses.
• Ensure a safe and healthy workplace for all.
