Job summary

Cal State East Bay seeks a Postsecondary Program Specialist (Temporary) to manage internship programs across Promise Interns, College Corps, and service-learning streams. You’ll recruit, hire, orient, and oversee interns while ensuring policy compliance and grant deliverables.

The role partners with university leadership and external agencies. The position supports risk management, program evaluation, and performance reporting, with a focus on cradle-to-career services and student engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, education, social sciences, or a related field (or equivalent administrative experience).
• Experience with college students, internship programs, or workforce development initiatives.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of risk management policies, compliance requirements, and student internship best practices.
• Ability to analyze and report program data for evaluation and grant compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Understanding cradle-to-career services for children and families.
• Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed.
• Reliable transportation for community travel.
• Discretion with confidential information and data handling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, and data collection tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full cycle of internship program operations for 20-30+ interns across multiple pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with internship requirements and policies.
• Develop performance metrics and report data to meet grant requirements.
• Manage program budgets and reimbursements with financial staff.
• Implement risk management policies for service learning and minors on campus.
• Coordinate partnerships with faculty, staff, and external partners.
• Plan and execute professional development opportunities and events for students.
