Job summary

California State University, Bakersfield seeks a Student Services Professional III to oversee internship programming, employer engagement, and student professional development. The role advises students on internship exploration, career readiness, and academic processes, coordinating with CECE to expand opportunities.

You will develop and deliver career-readiness workshops, track internships, and build relationships with employers and alumni to support student success.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with related coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or related field may substitute for one year of experience.
• Doctorate may substitute for three years of professional counseling responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations of the College internship program, including intake, tracking, employer communication, and referrals.
• Advise students individually and in groups on internship opportunities, resumes, interview preparation, and workplace readiness.
• Develop, deliver workshops and career-readiness programming related to internships, resumes, interviewing, and professional communication.
• Collaborate with CECE to align internship and career readiness efforts with campus resources and employer engagement strategies.
