Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Postpartum Unit. This part-time night role consists of two 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. The successful candidate will hold a BSN and Virginia RN licensure (or eligibility), with preferred postpartum/postpartum unit experience.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an RN in Virginia.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in critical care or postpartum units.
• Two years of postpartum RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient health assessments from multiple data sources.
• Develop individualized care plans based on assessments and trends.
• Provide family-centered care and advocate for patient rights.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure outcomes and smooth transitions.
• Document all care activities per standards and support continuity of care.
