Inova Fairfax Medical Center in Falls Church, VA is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) to join the postpartum unit. This full-time role features 3x12 hour night shifts per week from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Relocation assistance is eligible. The nurse will provide evidence-based postpartum care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support new families through the childbirth continuum. BSN required, ADN with BSN within 5 years; Virginia RN licensure; 1 year CCU experience; 2

Qualifications

• Minimum BSN from an accredited school; ADN holders must complete BSN within 5 years.
• At least 1 year of RN experience in critical care settings; CCR experience or fellowship acceptable.
• Two years of inpatient RN experience on a Postpartum Unit preferred.
• Current Virginia RN license or multi-state license.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care on the postpartum unit.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and interpret data to set care priorities.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for optimal outcomes.
• Evaluate progress and adjust care plans as needed.
• Coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Advocate for patients' rights and respect preferences.
• Maintain accurate documentation per standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other disciplines.
• Serve as a resource, mentor, and preceptor to colleagues.
• Engage in professional growth and quality improvement.
