Job summary

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health in Washington, DC, part of Universal Health Services, seeks an experienced Postpartum RN Clinical Supervisor (Full Time-Days). The role provides clinical and operational leadership for the Postpartum/Mother-Baby unit, ensuring safe, family-centered care while overseeing daily operations and staff performance.

You will coach staff, coordinate staffing and patient flow, and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to maintain high-quality

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; current DC RN license required.
• BLS certification required; maternal/newborn certifications may be required.
• 2–3 years recent Postpartum/Mother-Baby or related nursing experience; leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical leadership and oversight of nursing staff during shifts, ensuring safe postpartum and newborn care.
• Coordinates staffing, admissions, discharges, transfers based on acuity and unit needs.
• Serves as a clinical resource for complex patient situations and escalation of care.
• Coaches staff through orientation, education, performance feedback, and development.
• Collaborates with physicians, Lactation, NICU, Labor & Delivery, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Promotes compliance with policies, infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.
