Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current RN license in the District of Columbia required.
• BLS certification required; additional maternal/newborn certifications may be required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of postpartum/mother-baby or related nursing experience; leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical leadership and oversight of nursing staff on assigned shifts for postpartum and newborn care.
• Coordinates staffing, patient flow, admissions, discharges, and transfers based on acuity.
• Serves as a clinical resource for complex patient situations and escalation of care.
• Coaches staff through orientation, education, performance feedback, and development.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality.
• Promotes compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.
