Job summary

Covenant HealthCare in Michigan seeks a Registered Nurse to provide leadership, assessment, and coordination of care for a diverse patient population. You will support mother-newborn education, breastfeeding assistance where applicable, and ensure safe patient handling during hospital stay.

The role emphasizes collaboration with care teams, adherence to policies, and ongoing professional development to meet quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from NLN accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse with current licensure in the State of Michigan.
• BLS certification required.
• Attends unit conferences, in-service programs and continuing education activities to meet the organization’s expectations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports patient flow through adherence to unit and Patient Services policies.
• Remains flexible for 24-hour staffing and scheduling in all inpatient units.
• Communicates with patients and families professionally and courteously.
• Assesses, cares for, and treats patients per Covenant HealthCare guidelines.
• Performs ongoing assessments and develops goal-directed care plans.
• Delegates, supervises, and implements care per established standards.
• Collaborates with health care disciplines to improve patient outcomes and discharge readiness.
• Identifies learning needs and provides discharge instruction support.
• Exhibits nursing judgement within the nursing process.
• Documents care observations in the electronic record accurately and timely.
• Participates in quality management and ongoing competency updates.
• Supports patient rights, confidentiality, and risk management activities.
• Participates in unit meetings and activities to support organizational goals.
