Job summary

The Gonzalez Lab at UCSF is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist in neuroscience, funded by HHMI, in San Francisco, CA. The role emphasizes advanced optical approaches (multiphoton, Bessel-beam imaging) to record/manipulate neuronal activity in mice and songbirds, alongside electrophysiology and quantitative behavior.

Qualified candidates hold a PhD in neuroscience or bioengineering, with strong coding skills (MATLAB, Python) and hands‑on imaging/analysis experience.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in neuroscience, bioengineering, or related field.
• Advanced experience in coding and analysis of large multimodal datasets.
• Ability to learn quickly and to work independently and on a team.
• High level of research integrity and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Programming and data analysis for multimodal datasets.
• Operate and optimize optical imaging and electrophysiology experiments.
