Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company in Boston is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to investigate α-synuclein biology and aggregation in disease. You will build cellular models and apply biochemical readouts in a collaborative drug discovery environment.

Ideal candidates have a PhD with hands-on aggregation biochemistry, cell line engineering, and a strong publication record. Fixed-term postdoc with potential for full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

  • PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, protein biophysics, or a related field (or near graduation).
  • Hands-on protein aggregation biochemistry experience, including ThT-based assays.
  • Experience generating/engineering mammalian cell lines (CRISPR, LV, stable lines).
  • Experience with recombinant protein expression and characterization.
  • Authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead experiments to define molecular/cellular drivers of α-synuclein aggregation.
  • Develop cellular models and iPSC-derived neurons for disease-relevant systems.
  • Use seeded aggregation and recombinant fibril generation to study misfolding kinetics.
  • Apply ThT and other readouts to quantify aggregation across conditions.
  • Validate findings in neuronal models using imaging and biochemistry.
  • Collaborate across Lilly Boston site and with external partners.
  • Present findings at meetings and contribute to publications.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation in ELB.
