Job summary

Seattle Children’s seeks a Postdoctoral Scientist to study molecular mechanisms of RNA processing in Trypanosomatid pathogens. The project combines genetics, cell biology, protein structure/function and informatics, with emphasis on independent, collaborative work.

The successful candidate will design and perform experiments, analyze data, review literature, and prepare reports and manuscripts within a mission-driven pediatric research environment at Seattle Children’s.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent biomedical degree in relevant field.
• Experience with basic molecular biology methods and cellular techniques.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Literature review to inform experimental design and interpretation.
• Design and perform experiments to investigate RNA processing in protozoan pathogens.
