Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in the Franklin-Biochemistry department to purify proteins and characterize them using mass spectrometry. Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field with significant experience in protein purification and mammalian cell work. The position includes developing an in-vitro model system and preparing scientific manuscripts.

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a related field.
• Significant experience purifying proteins or working with mammalian cells.
• Experience with mass spectrometry is valuable.
• Excellent record keeping and organizational skills.
• Ability to prepare scientific manuscripts and oral presentations.
• Ability to work as a team member and team lead.

Responsibilities

• Isolate Fc gamma receptors from primary human cells.
• Characterize Fc gamma receptors using mass spectrometry.
• Develop a recombinant in-vitro model system for Fc gamma receptors.
• Conduct scientific writing for manuscripts and grant proposals.
