Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist in Functional Genomics at Bayer Crop Science R&D to advance functional genomics and high-throughput screening that fuel pipeline innovation in agricultural science. You will design and optimize assays across a variety of models and cell types in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a Ph.D. in molecular or cell biology or related field and experience with high-throughput screens, cell culture, and data analysis.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in molecular or cell biology, biological/biomedical sciences, genetics/genomics, or a similar field.
Experience with high-throughput cell-based assays and data analysis.
Ability to maintain cell culture and screen complex cell models (insect/plant).
Experience with stable cell line development and maintenance.
Familiarity with emerging fields of study.

Responsibilities

Design and optimize functional screens with custom readouts.
Develop fit-for-purpose assays to assess phenotypic changes after perturbation.
Conduct data analyses and design-controlled experiments with cross-functional partners.
Coordinate implementation to enable project success.
Identify and perform complementary analyses across modalities and data layers.
Maintain detailed record-keeping and required documentation.
Demonstrate commitment to inclusion and safety.
