Job summary

Bayer Crop Science in the United States is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist in Functional Genome Engineering to bridge wet-lab and computational biology, design high-throughput genetic perturbation screens, and generate insights guiding pipeline innovation.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, apply CRISPR and transcriptomics analyses in AWS cloud, and contribute to decision-making with rigorous data analyses and reproducible workflows.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a biological or biomedical field (molecular/cell biology, genetics, genomics, bioinformatics or similar).
• Proven experience with CRISPR screens or related gene perturbation technologies.
• Experience with next-generation transcriptomics analysis or related areas.
• Experience working in an AWS cloud computing environment and proficiency in Python or R.
• Familiarity with innovative or emerging fields of study.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to build productive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute genetic perturbation screens in various organisms and cell lines.
• Establish and optimize gene perturbation tools and reagents.
• Conduct in-depth data analyses and design controlled experiments with cross-functional partners.
• Anticipate broader project interests and propose complementary analyses.
• Perform advanced tasks requiring specialized knowledge and broad scientific principles.
• Stay current with literature and best practices in the field.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation.
• Demonstrate commitment to inclusion and safety.
