Job summary

CIRES, in partnership with NOAA GML at the University of Colorado Boulder, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate focused on atmospheric data quality control, regional inverse modeling, and carbon budget analysis for the Congo Basin.

The successful candidate will adapt CarbonTracker-Lagrange tools, work with aircraft vertical profile observations, and contribute to peer‑reviewed publications while collaborating with an international team.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field must have been defended with revisions finalized by start date.
• Experience analyzing and visualizing large observational/model datasets.
• Strong programming skills in scientific languages (Python, MATLAB, R).

Responsibilities

• Estimate and interpret observationally-constrained net carbon fluxes for Congo Basin.
• Adapt regional inverse modeling tools to the Congo Basin domain.
• Conduct sensitivity tests on model parameters and transport products.
• Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and present at meetings.
