Job summary

The Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) at the University of Colorado Boulder and the NOAA Global Monitoring Laboratory (GML) invite applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Associate position focused on atmospheric data quality control, analysis, and inverse modeling of the Congo Basin carbon budget. This role integrates collaboration across CIRES and NOAA GML teams.

Qualifications

• PhD in Atmospheric Science or related field.
• Experience with atmospheric data analysis and inverse modeling.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or R.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Adapt CarbonTracker-Lagrange framework to the Congo Basin domain.
• Estimate observationally-constrained carbon fluxes and uncertainties.
• Analyze atmospheric profiles of CO2, CO, and H2O.
• Lead and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
• Present findings at conferences.
