Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories invites applications for a Postdoctoral Appointee in Neuromorphic Device Physics, onsite at Livermore. The researcher will prototype and test memory devices, linking device physics to computer science applications within a large, multi-disciplinary project.

The role requires a PhD in a relevant field and hands-on materials synthesis experience, with publications in peer‑reviewed journals.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience in electronic materials synthesis and electronic properties measurement.
• A record of publications in peer‑reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and test new memory devices and discover their physical properties for neuromorphic algorithms.
• Synthesize materials and fabricate devices with clean room techniques.
• Characterize electrical, chemical, and thermal properties of devices.
• Perform low/high temperature transport measurements and electrical testing of devices.
• Present results at national/international meetings and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
