The Wernimont Lab at the University of Minnesota is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team focused on placenta biology, maternal‑fetal health, and placental development. This full‑time position offers access to state‑of‑the‑art facilities and opportunities for professional growth.

The appointment is initially for one year with potential renewal based on performance and funding, including mentorship of students and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

Position Summary

The Wernimont Lab at the University of Minnesota is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team focused on placenta biology. Our lab investigates the mechanisms underlying placental development and function, with an emphasis on maternal‑fetal health. This position provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge research in reproductive and developmental biology. Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in molecular biosciences, cellular biology, developmental biology, physiology, genetics, or a related field.

• Experience with placental biology, trophoblast research, or pregnancy‑related disorders is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with next‑generation sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, or imaging techniques.
• Proficiency in computational biology tools for transcriptomic and genomic data analysis.
• Familiarity with animal models of pregnancy or human placental tissue and organoid studies.
• Demonstrated track record of scientific productivity, including peer‑reviewed publications.

Employment Requirements

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $61,008–$66,492 (depending on education, qualifications, experience)

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
