Shyam Bansal’s laboratory will study the role of inflammatory immune responses in mediating cardiovascular diseases. Our laboratory uses multidisciplinary approaches to study the role of different immune subsets in regulating left-ventricular remodeling and cardiac dysfunction during heart failure.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree with expertise in molecular biology and inflammation testing.
• Experience with in-vivo and in-vitro models and flow cytometry.

Responsibilities

• Perform small animal cardiac structure and functional analysis and conduct coronary ligation surgeries including echocardiography.
• Maintain cell lines and perform pharmacological assays, Western blotting and qRT-PCR.
• Oversee animal lines, transgenic mice and data analysis; train technicians.
• Present results in manuscripts, grants and formal presentations.
