Job summary

City Tech, part of The City University of New York, invites applications for a full-time Research Associate (Postdoctoral Fellow) to conduct grant-supported experiments on light-matter interactions for quantum-information applications. You will develop and optically characterize advanced materials and devices, focusing on transition-metal dichalcogenide monolayers and heterostructures.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree and demonstrated research ability.
• Experience with low-dimensional or quantum materials.
• Experience with nanofabrication and device processing.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental research on light-matter interactions in quantum materials.
• Design, fabricate, and integrate material systems and optical devices.
• Develop optical-characterization experiments (spectroscopy, microscopy, photon measurements).
• Analyze data, maintain records, and prepare progress reports.
• Collaborate with PI and team on multidisciplinary research.
• Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
