Job description

The Coriell Institute for Medical Research is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to investigate sex biases in melanoma susceptibility and progression, using cell lines and mouse models. This role would be based in the Engel Lab, which harbors a strong research program that focuses on epigenetics, signaling, and cancer.

Education:

Applicants must have a Ph.D., with a background and/or interest in epigenetics, cancer biology, molecular biology, and cell culture.

  • Must have proficiency in a range of cell/developmental biology, molecular, immunological, and genomic techniques, including experience in tissue culture, flow cytometry, DNA methylation analysis, and chromatin immunoprecipitation.
  • Experience working with mice within a vivarium setting is required.
  • Must have at least 1 first-author publication from his/her PhD training.
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills are essential to ensure steady communication within the lab environment
  • Basic bioinformatic skills are a plus, particularly R Programming Language and/or Python.
  • Ability to perform other duties, as assigned.

The starting salary for this role is $60,000. The position is eligible for common health & welfare benefits, participation in our 403(b) plan, a 7% Month Contribution to a 401(a), 20 days of PTO, 10+ Paid Holidays, and 7 Paid Sick days per year. The role would be afforded a suite of employer paid life and disability insurance, that is available for all full-time employees.
