Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a research fellow to join the expanding team, contributing to investigational work under supervision of a principal investigator. You will pursue research questions, design experiments, and develop skills for independent work.

Responsibilities include training, publishing manuscripts, collaborating with groups, and advancing lab methods, with increasing independence as the fellowship progresses.

Qualifications

• PhD or MD required.
• 0-1 years of relative experience required.
• Postdoctoral research experience or teaching assistantship beyond the doctoral degree preferred.
• Ability to produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.
• Experience reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing scientific literature.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal, organizational, writing, and project management skills.
• Advanced technical computer skills for specific laboratory/systems support.

Responsibilities

• Abides by institutional policies related to health and safety, equality, data storage and management.
• Pursues research under supervision of a PI while developing independence.
• Receives training and participates in investigational work including formulation of research questions, design, conduct and evaluation of experiments.
• Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under PI supervision.
• Develops expertise in lab skills, informatics, physics, and clinical research; grows independence over time.
• Leads collaborative meetings, attends seminars, and contributes to new ideas in the research program.
• Teaches and supervises students and projects as appropriate.
• Identifies deficiencies and seeks improvement under supervision.
