Position Summary
The Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience at the University of Nebraska Medical Center invites applications for three (3) postdoctoral research positions. We are seeking exceptionally motivated and talented individuals to join our dynamic team, dedicated to pioneering research at the intersection of HIV infection, drug abuse, mitochondrial dysfunction, and neuroinflammation.
As part of the cutting-edge research projects, you will advance our understanding of how these factors contribute to neuroinflammation. Responsibilities include designing and conducting innovative experiments, analyzing complex mechanisms, writing high-impact manuscripts, and contributing to competitive grant applications. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in neurobiology in the context of neuropathogenesis and inflammation. Proficiency in advanced molecular and cellular techniques, along with experience in neurobiology and a proven track record of scientific excellence is required. Ideal candidates will have experience in critical areas such as neuronal culturing and spine density assessments, microglial functional and structural analysis, and rodent behavioral experiments, cell signaling relating to inflammation, ferroptosis and pyroptosis. Expertise in dysregulated autophagy, mitophagy, and lysosomal dysfunction is desirable.

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in biological sciences, biochemistry, immunology, pharmacology, physiology, or pathology.
