Position Summary

The postdoctoral research associate assists Dr. Ahn with activities related to the Translational Core. Responsibilities include literature reviews, message development, virtual reality development and user testing, preparation for the annual workshop, VR Demo Day, and the VR-integrated training package. The associate will help draft white papers, requests for proposals, and annual reports, and will be involved in translational communication efforts for the CHARTER project, including social media content generation, dissemination, and community liaison activities. Day‑to‑day management of the CACHE center space is required, covering administrative duties such as IRB protocol drafting and submission, hardware maintenance, repairs, software updates, and demo administration. Drafting peer‑reviewed manuscripts for conferences and journals is also part of the role.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. in Communication (with an emphasis in technology, video games, virtual environments), Social Psychology, Public Health, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related discipline.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge and experience with virtual reality content development and evaluation strongly preferred.

Physical Demands

Working in a lab environment.
