Job summary

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory seeks a Post Doctorate Research Associate to develop peptoid-based functional nanomaterials, including peptoid polymer chemistry, self-assembly, and inorganic nanocrystal formation. The role requires collaboration with chemists, materials scientists, theorists, and device teams on-site in Richland, WA, with opportunities to publish and present at conferences.

Qualifications

• PhD within the past five years or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
• PhD in Chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials science, or related field.
• Proven publications in polymer nanoscience, chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science.
• Hands-on experience with spectroscopic and microscopic nanomaterials characterization methods.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize sequence-defined peptoids and purify them.
• Study self-assembly of peptoids into hierarchical nanomaterials.
• Explore peptoid polymer chemistry and folding.
• Characterize structures with AFM and TEM.
• Collaborate with chemists, materials scientists, theorists, and device teams.
• Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Contribute to manuscript development and reporting of progress.
