The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA, invites applications for 3-4 highly motivated Postdoctoral Associates in the Badran Lab. The role focuses on synthetic/chemical biology, directed evolution, genome editing and bioengineering to develop tools accelerating evolution of macromolecular biosynthetic machinery.

As a Postdoctoral Associate, you will lead projects addressing targeted antibiotics discovery for microbiome regulation, predict antimicrobial resistance modalities, and expand

Qualifications

Doctoral degree required or pending with PI approval.
Experience with protein/RNA bioengineering and molecular biology is preferred.
Strong communication and data documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and publish research.

Responsibilities

Lead diverse projects in directed evolution and bioengineering.
Develop tools to accelerate evolution of biosynthetic machinery.
Mentor junior researchers and collaborate with lab members.
Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
