Loyola University Chicago is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Sensory Neuroscience and Pain at the Maywood Health Sciences Campus. The role focuses on investigating the neuronal membrane proteasome (NMP) in sensory neuron signaling, somatosensation, and pain, using rodent behavior, biochemistry, and microscopy.

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent with a background in neuroscience, participate in collaborative projects, and start around February 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in neuroscience or a related discipline.
• M.D. or PhD required.
• Strong background in rodent somatosensory behavior is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Investigate the role of the neuronal membrane proteasome (NMP) in sensory neuron signaling and pain.
• Integrate rodent somatosensory behavioral studies with biochemical and microscopy approaches to address questions.
• Contribute to a collaborative research environment and develop experiments.
