Job summary

City of Hope invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Yang Laboratory within the Beckman Research Institute. The role focuses on how protein arginine methylation regulates RNA metabolism and gene expression in cancer and immune cells, with integration of transcriptomic, single-cell, epigenomic, and proteomic data.

The successful candidate will explore mechanistic RNA biology using mouse models and functional genomics, offering opportunities to pursue independent research directions

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, RNA Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Cancer Biology, Immunology, or a related discipline.
• Strong publication record with at least one first-author article.
• Ability to design, execute, and troubleshoot independent research projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly motivated, creative, and capable of working independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Investigate how PRMTs regulate pre-mRNA splicing and RNA processing in normal and malignant cells.
• Characterize RNA-binding proteins and spliceosomal components in cancer and immune cells.
• Develop and analyze genetically engineered mouse models of cancer and immune dysfunction.
• Integrate multi-omics data to uncover novel therapeutic vulnerabilities.
