Job summary

Universitätsmedizin Greifswald in Germany is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow for the BYPASS project within the ERC Advanced Grant PROTECT. The position offers substantial scientific freedom to develop original biotech concepts and to build an independent research profile during the five-year grant term.

The role targets candidates with a PhD in biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, protein engineering, synthetic biology or biophysics, and a strong track record.

Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, protein engineering, synthetic biology, biophysics or a related field.
• Strong scientific track record appropriate to career stage with independence.
• Willingness to explore new scientific territory and translational approaches.
• Prior transfusion medicine experience is not required; related expertise available in project.
• Expertise in protein design/engineering, enzyme engineering or glycoengineering is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Develop new biotechnology-based strategies within BYPASS and build an independent research profile.
• Engage in protein engineering, synthetic biology and computational design as part of project goals.
• Collaborate across engineering/preclinical domains and contribute to regulatory development.
• Participate in national/international collaborations and grant activities.
