Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's Solecki Lab is building imaging-based biosensor platforms to visualize chromatin states in living neurons.

We seek postdoctoral fellows to develop and apply advanced microscopy to understand chromatin-state transitions during neuronal maturation and brain circuit assembly. Ideal candidates are imaging-focused with experience in live-cell imaging, lattice light-sheet or super-resolution microscopy, and quantitative image analysis.

Qualifications

• PhD in cell biology, biophysics, gene regulation, neuroscience or related discipline.
• Experience in live-cell imaging, advanced microscopy, super-resolution, single-molecule imaging, lattice light-sheet, or imaging probe development.
• Interest in applying imaging-based approaches to chromatin organization, nuclear dynamics, epigenetic regulation, or neuronal differentiation.
• Familiarity with quantitative image analysis using Python, MATLAB, R, Fiji/ImageJ, Imaris, or related platforms; strong publication record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply imaging-based biosensor platforms to visualize chromatin-state dynamics in living neurons.
• Optimize biosensor performance and microscopy acquisition.
• Conduct quantitative analysis of epigenetic modifications, nuclear organization, and chromatin-state transitions during neuronal differentiation.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to design probes, imaging strategies, perturbation workflows, and analysis pipelines.
• Contribute to first-author publications and build a distinctive scientific identity at the imaging-neurodevelopment interface.
